Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in being. Allow nature to teach you stillness. - Eckhart Tolle

Stillness, that existence between moments when all you sense is your own essence. That elusive muse. Perhaps you feel it as peacefulness or embodiment. Either way you know its power and its seemingly fleeting nature. But when living those moments of stillness heightened clarity, confidence, motivation are just the initial rewards. Following is the ability to execute and perform amidst the storm of life.

Cultivating stillness only requires you take notice of the moments you feel embodied in stillness. Allow yourself belief you can identify it and grow the duration in which you're enveloped by the feeling. Like muscle memory, the way you experience embodiment will become second nature. It may be identifiable via your mood shift, physical tension released in specific parts in your body, the speed of your thoughts, or the way you speak to yourself. Also like muscle memory, frequent awareness and extended duration bring availability. Then, when the storm comes and you feel overwhelmed by the externalities of life, family, work, traumas, anxieties, the lack of "you time" or dream achievement ... recall the embodiment and claim stillness as your own. Exit the cerebral and be present. Allow embodiment to grant you the clarity, confidence, and motivation to be and become whatever is required of you. Rooted in stillness you too, like the tree, flower, or plant will perennially flourish.
